Ladbarrow Farm

Asked to enhance the garden and approach of a working farm high up on Cotswold brash near Burford, Catherine started by making the entrance courtyard more inviting, opening up a view across the farm from the side and creating borders around the house. An avenue of pink flowering May trees was planted to provide an axis across the lawn, a species which, while being ornamental, could withstand the wind which whips across the farm. Other improvements were to clothe the handsome but plain stone Cotswold farmhouse in climbers, and to plant a pale yellow themed border leading to woodland with winding paths.
